Causes include:
- Pulled muscles - partial tearing of the muscles
- Sprained joints - partial tearing of the ligaments
- Tendonitis - partial tearing and inflammation of the tendons
- Tennis Elbow / Golfer’s Elbow - inflammation of the tendon insertions on the elbow
- Achilles Tendonitis - inflammation of the tendon insertions at the heel
- Shin Splints - inflammation of the tendon insertions on the inside of the shin
- Anterior Compartment Syndrome - inflammation of the muscles and tendons on the outside of the shin
- Runner’s Knee / Ilio Tibial Band Syndrome - inflammation of the tendon insertion on the outer side of the knee
- Over-pronation - excessive rolling in of the arch of the foot
- Patellofemoral Syndrome - friction on the underside of the kneecap
- Chondromalacia Patellae - degeneration of the cartilage of the kneecap
- Plantar Fasciitis - inflammation of the muscles and tendons that support the arch of the foot
