Back Pain

Causes include:

• Muscle stiffness due to poor posture or overuse
• Muscle, tendon and ligament Injuries
• Osteoarthritis - wear and tear of the joints of the spine
• Slipped Disc - degeneration or injury to the vertebral discs

Treatment:

• Stretching, massage and articulation techniques
• Rehabilitation and stretching programme
• Aftercare advice
• Preventative and postural advice

Please Note:

Much less commonly back pain can be due to more serious underlying disease.

Osteopaths and Physiotherapists are trained as primary healthcare professionals and before treatment a detailed case history is taken to determine the state of general health.

If necessary you will be advised to see your GP or to have further investigations such as X-Ray or MRI.
